Lights out,
Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda,
Not stepped up and ran when I could have
Maybe then I could've been
Spared from seeing Arrowe Park again
I'll run twice as fast
Next time I see a Passat
And so it galls me that I see you here today
One, not out
Walk away
I never thought I'd see you here today
So run
Now that you have seen him
Don't want a repeat of what he did again
There are still the scars
And reservoirs of traumatic feelings
But no, not this time
A well of anger in my mind
I won't be frightened now I've seen you here today
One, not out
Walk away
I never thought I'd see you here today
I'm not afraid this time
Got all of my friends behind
I can see that I am free
And no more have you got a hold on me
I'll just walk away
Let the fear all drift away
I am so happy that I've seen you here today
One, not out
Walk away
I'm better off now that I've seen you here today.

"It's something special, ain't it?
It's from another life.
My violin has been my constant in these troubled times.
It's the only thing I have left but for this suit and tie."
I see the lights turn on and sparkle in your greedy eyes.
You can't con an honest man
But that's not what you are
You lie to yourself "You're good and true"
Which makes you the perfect mark for my art
"Oh god, I've left my wallet
In my apartment hall.
If I run home to get it
Can this be collateral?"
Enter the Antique Expert
"Oh my god, can it be a Stradivarius
That is here in front of me?"
You can't con an honest man
But that's not what you are
You lie to yourself "You're good and true"
Which makes you the perfect mark for my art
And when I come back "What's this?
You'll write off all my debt?
But you see I know that my instrument is worth more than that."
You add a few more thousand,
You think you've got a steal
But we're in the wind and you've got a violin that isn't real.
You can't con an honest man
But that's not what you are
You lie to yourself "You're good and true"
Which makes you the perfect mark for my art
The Perfect Mark.

If I get knocked down,
Will I get up again?
I used to think I will,
But these days
I'm pretty sure I won't.
If you shoot me down,
Will it dent my confidence?
If you turn me down,
What's the consequence?
Will I be okay or spiral down again?
I kinda hope I don't.
If you let me down
Will I blame myself?
Will I twist the thought into a knife and drive it deep into the heart of my mental health?
I'll say out loud "I am Okay and I'll deal with it"
But we both know I won't.

It's never enough, I'm never the same
After I've been subjected to your game
I'm lost in this vast emptiness you've made
(and made it only for me)
And there's never an out, No point I can save
I've tried to escape this parallel universe
But every move I make just makes it worse
It's never enough, no game I can play
I tread lightly but the eggshells still break
I'm forced to enable or face the pain
(of the cold your shoulder gives me)
It's never enough, you'll never be the same
I've tried to appease this, I've tried to make you smile
But the person I loved has been gone quite a while
It's never enough, We're never the same...
